Honestly, I had a completely different subject in mind for this post. I don’t feel like that post is ready just yet. One thing I realized is every post I upload is a lesson God is teaching me or taking me through. Unfortunately, I do not think the topic I was writing on I’ve learned what I needed to learn from it yet. If that even makes sense. Instead, I will use this post this week as a journal entry about the vision God has given me for this blog and my desire behind it.
Have you ever looked back at your life and thought wow that seemed like such a good idea at the time but you were wrong? When I look back on my life and everything I have done and have not done, a lot of what I see are mistakes. A mistake is an action or judgment that is misguided or wrong. The reason mistakes are so hard to identify in our life because at the time it seems like the right thing to do. Hence the definition of being misguided.
Here is where a lot of people like to modestly say “Oh, I don’t have regret for anything in my past, every mistake has taught me a lesson”. Let’s take this moment where we shed that false humility and be honest with ourselves. There are a lot of mistakes we have made in the past that we regret. Unfortunately, there are some things that some of us are currently doing now that in a few months or maybe years, you will view it as a mistake. Let’s pray for God’s mercy that it is not years.
What I am getting at is, despite our human nature to think we have it all together and we are perfect. Most times we do not have it all figured out and we are not perfect. It is important to remember we are human and we only know in part.
1 Corinthians 13: 12 "For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. " KJV
1 Corinthians 13:12 For now [in this time of imperfection] we see in a mirror dimly [a blurred reflection, a riddle, an enigma], but then [when the time of perfection comes we will see reality] face to face. Now I know in part [just in fragments], but then I will know fully, just as I have been fully known [by God]. AMP version
A perfect example of this is the story of Paul. Paul’s transformation takes place in Acts chapter 9.
Short Summary: Saul renamed by God to be Paul, was a religious leader who thought he was doing right by persecuting new believers. He was a mass murderer and believed he was killing Christians in the name of God, Saul only knew in part. On a journey to the city of Damascus, to kill more believers, a light shined on the road and God spoke from heaven. God revealed to Saul the truth and renamed him Paul. He then went on to write most of the new testament.
Saul renamed by God Paul, thought he knew it all. He was full of pride at the time and ignorantly killed innumerable amount of people because of it. It was not until God came an illuminated his understanding is when the blurred mirror was wiped clean and he saw the error of his ways. Then and only then was there a radical change in his life.
This blog is inspired by that story. I would love for God to use this blog as a light shining in your life to expose the things hidden in the dark, the things we only know in part, to set us free and cause not just a minor change but a RADICAL one.
After Paul’s understanding was illuminated he then went on to build 14 churches and speak to world leaders. That is my expectation from God for Radically Changed, that anyone that reads/partakes in this blog immediately life altering changes will happen in their life, IMMEDIATELY. That is my expectation and declaration.
Let’s agree today, that we will no longer think we know it all but in ALL things will we seek God out. As I said before, I have made a lot of mistakes in my life. I understand now that those mistakes caused delays to what God was trying to do in me and through my life. What are you delaying because you think you know it all?
Take this moment to reflect on your mistakes, not as a way to condemn but to remind yourself that you do not know everything. Even if at the moment it felt like you did. Now, go to God and admit you only know in part and ask him to show you the whole picture.
Proverbs 3:5-8 “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: Fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, And marrow to thy bones.”
